I am from VA. I have had cats and dogs in my life for as long as I can remember. My first memory is of me and a kitty in my parents kitchen. Growing up, my happiest times where when I was at my cousin’s farm playing with the dogs and all the animals. I will always have them in my life! I can’t imagine how people can live without them.

This is Petunia. She was my first Peke. When we found her, we knew nothing about Pekes. Our vet educated us on all the weird noises that she made. I did research on the breed for the first few years that we had her and just fell in love them. We lost Petunia 1/23/10.

About 6 months later, I adopted a puppy mill survivor named Piper. Between losing my Petunia and wanting to make sure no other dog lived the hell that Piper did is what inspired me to start the rescue.

6/15/11, Little Paws was born. People ask me how I do what I do. It is hard work, but it is completely worth it. I have worried, prayed, cried and been mad enough to choke someone. Would I change things? No. I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life.
